Winter Wonders

Winter has been wondrous!

I sat down and realized how long it's been since I've posted, and going through pictures I realized WHY it's been so long! This December we've been......

watching the first snowfall, and catching snowflakes on our tongues,

watching Ellie sing in her Preschool Christmas program (with her cousin Belle),

and with the Primary at the Ward Christmas Party,

feeding Trevor dozens of bottles (and keeping him from eating anything he finds on the floor),

Christmas partying, caroling, shopping,

having cousin play days and sleep overs (in this case, fingernails ended up painted in "Christmas stripes" by request),

watching our drumming brothers in Christmas Concerts (Lolly's brother Nate with the UVSC Jazz Band, Rob's brother Danny with the Orchestra at Temple Square when performing with the King Singers- our brothers rock the house- literally),

spending time with and seeing off Rob's little brother Brian on his mission to New York, New York (our brothers rock in more ways then one!)

enjoying our Trevor's new tricks, snuggles, and goofy grins (after over a week of intense practice, he mastered clapping today!)

visiting Santa for a Christmas Wish (all Ellie wants is Make-up, and Ryan wants candy. At least their easy to please!).

welcoming two new cousins into the world and into our families,

the gorgeous, little Clara Soulier

and the handsome, hunk Seth Christensen,

(we are so grateful you are here safe and sound!),

piling pillows around Trevor (just take a guess who did this one...),

surprising Rob with an early Christmas present- a weekend 'get-a-way' snow shoeing into his Grandpa's Cabin,

going to the "Festival of Trees" with our buddies

Ashlee and Jon Harris (and kids Hunter and Hanah) we love you guys!,

playing in the snow, again and again...

watching an Angel making a Snow angel,

building a snowman and the kids and naming him "Robert" after daddy, (I'm not sure what made him resemble daddy? Maybe the goofy grin.),

Gingerbread houses! I think we've made them (and eaten them) at least three times now.

spending the week of Thanksgiving with the Soulier family in condos up at Snowbird,

Ice-skating at the condo with Rob's parents (thanks again!),

going to the Gateway Children's Museum with the Soulier family,

being guest Weather reporters:

"You got it right folks, bundle up! It's cold out there!" (for the Gateway Museum:),

Playing games together at the condo and spending time with Uncle Brian before his mission,

Hot tubing at the condo on a super cold day (mm-mm),

"Where's Trevor? Oh! he climbed in the oven drawer, of course, why didn't I look in there?"

and drinking gallons of hot chocolate.

I think I may have just won an award for the longest post, or at least the longest run-on sentence. ;)

What a wonder it has been, and it's been wonderful to be by family and in the winter (most the time, as long as my toes stay warm) this Christmas season.

We have much to be grateful for. :)

Ready or not.

We are thrilled that our daddy Robert has been offered a spot at in Wayne, Michigan at Oakwood Hospital starting June 2008. We are so proud of him!! Over 30 people applied, and they only take three. This program is his number one, and he is looking forward to wonderful training. His buddy from school is also going there, so we are grateful and excited to have friends already! Here goes another adventure......

Houston, Texas Ya'll!

So, in November we spent two weeks in Texas visiting my sister Angie and her family. We had some great times. :)

Cousins!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had two baby boys, two three year olds, two four year olds, and Eli the 7 year old, that's what I call a party. :)

With seven kids age 6 and under in one house, that's mostly what we did....take the kids to the park,

take them to the museum,

play games, have movie nights,

jump in the bounce house in the back yard

...and braid little girl's STATIC hair. :)

My brother-in-law Evan's parents came in town for a few days, and his sister Elena and her Andrew live in Houston as well so we got to see them too!

We got to be there to here the wonderful news...

Elena and Andrew announced they are being blessed with a baby!

They have been married 6 years, and are thrilled to be expecting,

Congrats Elena and Andrew! We are thrilled for you! We had a fun night out on the town with Daddy Rob on the weekend. We went to a neat, little story book park and rode a trolley all around downtown Woodlands.

This was great. Angie had to go pick up Evan, so Rob and I took six kids on the trolley! We sat in the back row, so everyone that gave us a curiously shocked expression. Three asked if they were all ours. I just had to say, "I should tell you yes so you have a good story to tell." It was even better when we told the trolley driver we were from Utah. He just laughed!

My Sister taught first grade, and now runs a Preschool in her home. So, in a house filled with books (and I'm not just saying that...) we read a lot!

We also got to see old friends that had moved from Arizona to Texas last year, Lisa Koenig and her daughters Kaylie and Alexandra. I was so glad it worked out to see them, as the old saying goes, friends truly are the greatest treasure.

HOORAY FOR TEXAS!!

While we were there Trevor picked up a new trick. When we say, "Hooray!" he puts both arms up in the air. We think it's precious.
