Grandma Days

Boy, were we excited to see Grandma!

It felt like Christmas!

We got Grandma Soulier to ourselves for five 1/2 days!

We had fun getting ready for her to come;

cleaning house, making pineapple cake, Cafe Rio and a welcome sign.

It wasn't long before they got Grandma right were they wanted her, reading books.

Of course, Grandma brought all kinds of tricks up her sleeve.

One day we got Daddy home for lunch and a game of Trevor's new favorite game, "Hullabaloo" (thanks Spen and Rachel!)

Grandma brought a life-size trace of Ellie's friend in Utah, and Grandma took one of Ellie, Ryan and Trevor back to show the cousins how much they've grown while living in Michigan!

Ryan turned Grandma's project into an extra long tail, not that we were surprised.

He usually resembles some kind of animal.

Grandma took home a nice bruise from their trip to the sledding hill (I hope it's better by now.:( )

It was a good thing they went the first day she came, because the snow melted over the weekend, and we got to enjoy some sunshine.

WELCOME TO MICHIGAN!

We got to watch Daddy Rob in a church basketball game.

It was a fun game to watch with a tight win at the end.

That's my boy.

Uncle Brian got a nice Valentine's package filled with all kinds of homemade goodies, and made by the most adorable little chefs.

Let's see how the world looks through Grandma's glasses...

Enjoying a sunny walk to the park, and shoveling the last of the snow off the driveway.

A walk to the park is best when followed up by a

LEMONADE and ANIMAL CRACKER stand.

What business minds these kids have!

Open up shop when Grandma is in town.

What Grandma wouldn't buy more lemonade and cookies than she ever wanted to eat to appease these bright blue eyes?

Now I call that good business strategy.

Rob and I got not one, but TWO dates in one day!

We were able to attend the temple in the morning, and go out to dinner (at one of our favorite restaurants Carraba's) and to hear the Detroit Symphony in the evening.

We enjoyed a wonderful Sunday, I love Sunday's.

The kids loved singing Primary songs for Grandma

in our microphone that plugs into our digital piano, writing in journals, and eating a yummy dinner together.

We will always remember our Grandma Days with you Grandma Soulier!

Trip Back in Time

The last day of Grandma Soulier's visit we were able to take a trip "back in time" with her to the Ford Museum.

Starting with a climb aboard one of the largest engines ever built, one of the Allegheny's.

The kids enjoyed a scavenger hunt, and learned about all kinds of things.

Super SIX Sledding Birthday

She wanted "crepe paper to run through like last year."

Nothing gets by this girl, she remembers everything.

Ah, the simple joys!

Ellie was so excited!

I can't believe she's so old. Seriously!

We were able to have our friends the Whites and the

Rigbys over for lunch, and it worked out great!

Present time!

Everyone was so sweet! They sure know Ellie too.

She got cute writing pens from Aly Rigby and stamps and books from her Grandmas.

Amie White's mom was in town, and she sewed Ellie an adorable apron and baker's hat!

The grand finale was a new bike....without training wheels!

She won't tell me what her wish was because then it won't come true :)

Another plus, was Daddy Rob was able to come home from work for lunch (which he NEVER does on Wednesdays) and be a part of the party!

After we had our fill of sugar (for the day), and had to send our daddy back to work

we were off to the sledding hill!

Trevor and Kevin kept each other company with Emily while we were freezing outside.

After the party left, Ellie enjoyed her presents all afternoon.

Unfortunately, we had to cancel going out to dinner as a family in the evening due to Ryan getting sick and loosing his lunch (and such a yummy lunch it was!). But, daddy Rob brought home a pizza and GRATEFULLY no one who came to the party caught the bug. We've had sickness every holiday this winter! Sheesh! Maybe we need a new dishwasher or something...
