A Week with Dad

Daddy took a week off work to get to know our new little angel, Brenna.
 SATURDAY
After we took Grandma to the airport, Saturday became a project day. We got rid of the duct-tape crib that we used for our first four kids! Rob tore it apart and put in in our trash can.
We moved Trevor into Sterling's room on the top bunk, and now Sterling is in a big boy bed on the bottom. It has been sweet to watch him vocalize and grow into his new identity as a "big brother." The first few days Brenna was home he kept saying, "She's tiny, and I'm tiny too!" After a while he would say, "She's a baby...and I'm a big boy."

 SUNDAY
One of my favorite things to do with our newborns has been to put them in the sun for a sunbath. Brenna loved the sun! She calmed down and relaxed enjoying the warmth of the sun. Sunday morning I turned soft piano music on my Kindle and played it for her while she rested in the sun. Ryan came in and enjoyed holding her hand and enjoyed the peaceful music and morning too.
 Tubby time!

This little ladybug outfit is the one she came home from the hospital in. She sure outgrew it fast! We've called Sterling "buggy" and now we have our "Lady buggy."
Ryan is a Lego maniac! He plays for hours on end everyday. He's very creative and we think he just might enjoy a career as an engineer someday.
I love putting Brenna to sleep in her little jammie dresses that cover her hands and make middle of the night diaper changes quick and easy when I'm half coherent.
She's scrumptious!
Our first car trip with a van full of OUR kids!
5 kids in the car!
Amazing! Girls in the front, boys in the back. :)
MONDAY
Disneyland with Dad!
The three big kids took advantage of on of the last days of our Disney passes being open before the summer and had an adventure with Dad!
Ellie said it was really fun because she could go on bigger kid rides the whole time.

Trevor says, "It's awesome!"

Good times!
They rode a bunch of rides we hadn't been on before and mad a wonderful memory together.

TUESDAY
The kids had a half day of school and we enjoyed Brenna baby.
Ryan also started practices for his first basketball team. He is going to be on it all summer and it will be a good, new experience for him.
Ellie had ballet practice again. She's loving it and I almost tear up watching her because she is so graceful and beautiful.

WEDNESDAY
The kids had their last day of school, and the rest of the week we could hang out without a lot going on. Nice!

Ryan's first Pinewood Derby was on Friday, and so a lot of the week was spent in making the perfect car.

Sterling loves wearing everyone's shoes around the house.
What a buggy!

THURSDAY
Wrestle with dad!

The boys love wrestling with their dad!
Tough guys.

Sweet girl. Rob loved having time to get to know our new daughter.
Basketball practice and ballet once again.

FRIDAY
Trevor had a T-ball game, so Rob took him and I took the rest of the crew to the Derby. It was Brenna's first time out besides the Doctor's office. Rob and Trevor came over as soon as Trev's t-ball was done.
Ryan had a great time at his first Pinewood Derby!
He came in a very close 4th place too.
At least he lost 3rd place to another BYU car. :)

 Sweet Wheels!
 Go Cougars!

SATURDAY
Ryan had his first Cub Scout Day camp! He had a blast and he has been putting bandaids on everyone from the first aid kit he made ever since.
We got to have a date to Panera Bread and Ford Park!
Lindsey White came to watch the big 4, and it was nice to have time together to talk and enjoy the beautiful evening. We love how the summer evenings cool down here.

Sterling has had a hard time with naps lately. He was taking long ones and staying up until 11 or 12 at night! We've been trying to get him on a better schedule and the poor guy has crashed on the couch quite a bit. He sure is cute when he sleeps.
Everyone gathered around Brenna on the bed to read her bedtime stories.
SUNDAY
Brenna's first debut at church!

It was a wonderful week growing into our new family size. :)
What a wonderful couch full of 5 kids!
