Enjoying the Simple Things September 2014

We haven't done a "simple things" in a long time, and with so many little things that we're enjoying it's long over due!
A bunch of "little things" we enjoyed in September...
Dance Class at Love of Learning with Lolly Mom!

Fruit by the foot!

The kids ALL love taking pictures of Brenna, so she's become quite the little ham when the camera comes out.

Playing at the Rocklin Johnson-Springview park before and after school.
Ellie took cello lessons for the month of September. Then decided she wanted to just stick with piano for now after all. It was still fun to try!
Ryan made a rock band out of legos, with Wild Style from the Lego Movies as the lead vocalist.
What? Trev? It's pretty fun to see what ends up on the cameras these days.
Cheese!

Santa came early to our house this year!

New fall pajamas!

Sweet!

Love. These. Boys.

Grocery shopping with these two while Ellie, Ryan, and Trevor are at school two days a week. :) They have been really fun together.

Visiting Daddy at work for lunch!

Photo bombs and pictures in the back yard...in a fedora of course.

Ellie Style.

A few fun dates with kids, Sterling was so excited to try the race cars at Sunsplash, but unsure once they started going. He's still unsure if he liked that date with Mom or not.

TIME OUT
for Women in Sacramento!
Ellie and I had fun with girls from the ward driving down on a Friday night. Ellie ended up tagging along all Saturday too, she had a blast! It was inspiring and uplifting.
You can see them with Olympian Noelle-Pikus Pace!
Cute hair for Saturday's fun. :)
Another Lego creation. Awesome, Ry!

Finally, labels in the spice cupboard.
"Cooking" with Mom.

Trevor set the entire table for dinner without being asked one day. He has been such a hard working, sweet responder for which we are grateful.
Love you, TJ! Nice job.

Brenna went through a lipstick obsession. We had to start locking the door to our room and Ellie's bathroom so she wouldn't get into it. She calls it "lips" and has learned that "mommy do my lips."

She ruined a few shirts, and even had a day in November when she ate two chapsticks with sunscreen in them and was up sick throwing  them up all night. I hope she's learning her "lips" lesson.

Fabulous Feminine Froggie...
and Friend.

Static hair on the slide (another fun picture find...).

Catch in the backyard. It was nice to have evenings cooling off in September, it was a long hot summer!
Ryan made a great drawing of King Tut for his History class and Sterling copied it. I love how Sterling wants to do what the big kids are doing, especially if it has to do with art.
We are working out some diet issues with the kids and had a scare with Brenna, but she tested out normal for which we are daily grateful!

Playing with wheat. :) These two are good buds.

Superwoman!
I love it when he falls asleep reading.
Brenna loves her friend Jaycee, and my wonderful friend Jenna has been fabulous to watch Brenna so I can teach the Middle and High School kids dance on Thursdays.

Pictures on the swing on morning with just Sterling and Brenna at home. I know how fast this season flies by. We're enjoying the moments the best we can!

Two blond, blue eyed peas in a pod. I love these pictures of these two. :)

Hair cut. She curled it pretty tight.
Girl's night out at PF Changs. Sad it was because Debbie moved to Oregon.

Jamba Juice at the mall park. Fun times!

Trevor learned to mow the lawn for the first time! Way to go TJ!

Sterling and Trevor picked out new shoes in red and black to match Dad.

Brenna is amazing on Sterling's scooter! She is really coordinated, and loves to play in the back yard.

You go girl!

Sterling loves coming home with things to share in Family Night from his wonderful CTR 4 class in Primary. He loves to take a turn to teach a lesson.
This lesson was about good and bad choices.
That family night turned out to be one of our favorites.
It all began with a bowl of salt dough.

Which became a fortress to "fortify our family!"
We studied the last verses Doctrine and Covenants 88 and the kids wrote down things that we can do to build a strong family like Moroni built strong fortresses.

Then the fortress became...
MUSTACHES.
Not sure how it applies to the lesson??
Okay, if this picture of Brenna doesn't make your day I'm not sure what will. ;)
She looks like a little, old man! We love it! It makes us laugh every time.

Not sure the story behind this either...
Brenna is the most nurturing little girl I've known. She takes care of her babies, stuffed animals, and toys everyday. She feeds them, reads them books, changes their daipers and takes them on fun outings. She is darling.
It's a pretty big job! It wipes her out sometimes.
Young Women's Indexing Challenge! Index 250 documents by Thanksgiving!
Ellie took my portion of the challenge since I had a wedding video to make. She's doing awesome at it, she loves it!

Rob and I had a super fun day date!
It started with Frisbee Golf!
It was fun to make new memories doing an old favorite past-time we hadn't done together since Michigan. We have two nice courses within 10 minutes of our house and we hope to go more often!

We ended up having an entire movie theater at the Palladio to ourselves!
We saw, "When the Game Stands Tall" and it was a great movie.

We found a new favorite restaurant,
Thai Paradise.
The curry was amazing.

So was the coconut ice-cream. Sorry to make you salivate.

We headed over to Lake Natomas and Kayaked for two hours!
The weather was perfect, and it really was a blast.
We laughed lots and enjoyed the good work out too.

Love. This. Guy.
Our day ended with some shopping at the outlets and Dinner at Chili's. We laughed because on our Honeymoon we went to Chili's and I ordered Steak and Rob ordered chicken. The waitress gave us the wrong meals, and we did it again this time! I ordered ribs and Rob ordered the chicken. He's not always healthier than I am, just for the record. I just like to order things I don't make at home and try new things, he's a more traditional eater.
It was a wonderful day! I love time with you, babe. Thanks for the fun memories.

RAIN!

Okay, so not all our shopping trips are a party.
Yes, he's a good sport to get piled in there. But, it would be much nicer if he'd just walk!

Ster-fry.
He wanted to make dry fruit bug snacks from the magazine we were reading.

On our outlet shopping date we found the perfect shirt for Brenna. We call it her "winky face shirt"
She loves it, and she loves to wink!

Growing up too fast!

Sterling and Trevor got a marble set and have loved playing with them on our track and the "real" marble game Trevor begged me to teach him how to play.

Simple things that make life wonderful.

Trevor and I also had a super, fun date. We played tennis and ran  home from the park together.

I love how these boys pretend they are pirates when they "swab the deck" during our weekly Friday morning's Power Cleaning.

We have loved our new piano teacher, Amy Brock! They boys are loving the project songs they are working on.

Brenna has enough hair to have some sweet bed head these days.
Another fun family night, with the Snelson's this time!
One of our family's new favorite games is Tenzies! It's a rush!

Fall popcorn for a treat! Love these little blondies.
We loved being a part of our Classical Foundations group in September. We met twice a week, and fell in love with the curriculum we are using. The kids are learning a time-line that goes from the creation to modern day. It's really awesome. We learn 7 events a week and by May they will know the 13 minute song. We love History at our house! We are reading some great books as well.

Costco samples! Green smoothie mustaches! (What's the deal with mustaches?)

Brenna can ride Sterling's bike! Crazy lady!

Loving the pumpkins on the front porch.
It was a wonderful September!
The love of a family is truly life's greatest gift.
We are grateful to have each other to enjoy life with!
